How Over/Under Works

You bet on whether the total score will be higher (over) or lower (under) than a line set by the bookmaker.

Half-point lines (2.5, 3.5) prevent pushes — the bet always settles as a win or loss.

Whole-number lines (2.0, 3.0) can result in a push where your stake is returned.

Football Totals

The standard line is Over/Under 2.5 goals. Historically, about 50% of top-league matches go over 2.5.

Key indicators for overs: both teams' xG, defensive injuries, attacking form, head-to-head scoring history.

Key indicators for unders: strong defensive teams, low-tempo leagues, derby matches (often cagey).

1.5~75%1.30 / 3.40
2.5~52%1.80 / 2.00
3.5~30%2.50 / 1.50
4.5~15%4.00 / 1.20

NBA Totals

NBA totals typically range from 210-240. The league average is about 222 points per game.

Pace (possessions per game) is the strongest predictor. Two fast teams = higher total.

Back-to-back games, especially with travel, tend to reduce scoring output by 3-5 points.

Tennis Totals

Total games markets (e.g., Over/Under 22.5 games) are popular in tennis betting.

Big servers and strong holders push totals higher. Strong returners and clay courts bring totals down.

Best-of-5 (Grand Slams) vs best-of-3 matters hugely — always check the format.

Advanced Totals Strategy

First-half totals often offer better value than full-match totals because bookmaker models are less refined.

Team totals (one team's score only) remove the uncertainty of the opponent's performance.

Alternative lines (e.g., Over 1.5 at shorter odds, Over 3.5 at longer odds) let you tailor risk/reward.

Tip: Track scoring trends on wagerbase sport pages. Recent form in goals/points is more predictive than season averages.
